Chevrolet Blazer key replacement and programming
The current Blazer, sold since 2019, offers a proximity key. The earlier Blazer of the 1990s and 2000s is a different vehicle with an older key system, so the two don’t share keys.
Blazer key systems by model year
Year ranges follow Blazer generations and are approximate. Trim, build date and factory options can change the system within a year, so we confirm it from your VIN before dispatch.
1995–2005Passlock-style systems
Earlier Blazer with a conventional ignition key; key type confirmed by VIN.
2019–presentProximity / smart keys and push-button start
Proximity key with push-button start on most trims; flip key on some.
Lost every Blazer key?
If no working key remains, we can program a new key at the vehicle for many Chevrolet models. Newer trucks and SUVs on GM’s newer electrical architecture can take more steps, and some may need dealer involvement. We confirm what your vehicle needs from the VIN before dispatch.

Important compatibility notice — final key compatibility must be confirmed
The key images, vehicle models, and year ranges shown on this page are provided as a general identification guide and may not apply to every vehicle. The manufacturer may use different key systems within the same model year depending on trim level, production date, manufacturing location, ignition type, and factory equipment. Final compatibility must be confirmed using the vehicle’s VIN, ignition type, existing key or fob, and vehicle information before service. The images are representative examples and do not guarantee an exact visual match.
A current registration or title and matching government-issued photo identification must be verified before automotive key, lock, or immobilizer service is performed.
