Car Door Unlock Service

Car Door Unlock Service in Burbank, CA

Keys inside, doors locked. We come to where the vehicle is and open it with tools suited to that make and model, after checking that you own it. If the keys aren’t actually in the car, that is a different job, and we’ll help you tell which one you need.

The service

What a lockout call involves

A lockout means your key exists and is somewhere you can’t reach: in the cabin, the trunk or the cargo area. We open the vehicle so you can retrieve it. No new key is made.

Entry methods differ by vehicle. Door design, frame shape, side-airbag placement and alarm systems all affect how a car is opened safely. The technician chooses the approach for your specific vehicle rather than using one method on every car.

Lockout or lost key?

Know which problem you have

If you can see the key inside, or you know it’s in the trunk, you need a lockout. If the key is gone and you don’t know where it is, opening the car won’t start it. You need a replacement key, and lost car keys explains that process.

If you’re not sure, tell dispatch. We can arrive ready for either job.

Common situations

When people call for a lockout

  • Keys left on the seat or in the ignition, and the doors locked.
  • Keys dropped in the trunk or cargo area while loading.
  • A fob that locked the car automatically with the key still inside.
  • A child or pet inside the vehicle. Tell dispatch immediately, and call 911 if anyone is in danger.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What if my ID and registration are inside the car?

That’s common. The technician opens the vehicle and checks the documents before handing over the key.

Can you open the trunk without opening the doors?

It depends on the vehicle. Some trunks can only be reached from the cabin. Keys locked in trunk covers the usual cases.

Will opening the car damage it?

We use entry tools intended for the purpose and choose the method for your vehicle. Tell us about any existing damage to the door or window before we start.
