Key fob repair & replacement
Fob cases, buttons, and batteries repaired or replaced as part of a mobile visit, plus full fob replacement and programming when needed.
Identify what has actually failed
A split case, worn button pad and failed electronic board call for different work. We inspect the housing, buttons and battery contacts before recommending a case repair or complete replacement. A new shell does not correct damaged electronics, and a new battery does not repair a broken circuit board.
Tell us whether the car still starts, which remote buttons respond, and whether the fob was dropped or exposed to liquid. If starting works but a button fails, the remote function should be assessed separately from start authorization. If the vehicle reports key not detected, diagnosis may involve the car as well as the fob.
When customers call for this
- A fob case is cracked or the buttons no longer respond.
- A fob battery has died and the buttons stopped working.
- A fob was dropped in water or damaged.
- A working fob is wanted as a spare.

Not every fob can be repaired; some damage requires full replacement and reprogramming. We confirm which applies before dispatch when possible.
From a damaged fob to tested functions
Inspect the damage
We examine the shell, button operation and available key response, then explain which parts appear serviceable.
Approve repair or replacement
A suitable case or button repair may retain the existing electronics. A replacement electronic fob requires separate compatibility checks and may need programming.
Test at the vehicle
We verify supported remote and starting functions after the approved work, including the emergency blade where applicable.
Frequently asked questions
Does replacing a case need programming?
When intact original electronics are transferred successfully into a suitable case, new registration may not be needed. A damaged board or replacement fob is a different job.
Can a water-damaged fob always be repaired?
No. Corrosion and board damage can make replacement the practical option. Tell us about liquid exposure before booking.
Can you replace only one broken button?
It depends on whether the failure is in the outer pad, switch or electronic board and whether a suitable repair is available. We assess before promising a repair.
A current registration or title and matching government-issued photo identification must be verified before automotive key, lock, or immobilizer service is performed.
